LANCELOT Research Tissue Bank

The MuscLe, heArt aNd metaboliC hEalth in people with Long-term cOndiTions (LANCELOT) Research Tissue Bank will primarily support the needs of the Centre for Sarcopenia and Muscle Research, the Renal Cardio Metabolic Research team, and the Leicester Diabetes Centre, to investigate questions relating to muscle wasting and cardiovascular risk in patients with chronic long-term conditions such as chronic kidney disease, cardiovascular disease and diabetes. The main aims of the tissue bank include: - To facilitate research; - To enhance availability of biological samples to University of Leicester researchers and collaborators, both national and international. Overall description of material in the RTB: - Skeletal muscle biopsy samples - Primary skeletal muscle cell - Plasma and serum samples - Saliva samples - Urine samples
