ALSPAC-G1 Birth samples, placenta, cord tissue and cord blood

Year Started: 1991

Birth samples were collected from babies enrolled in the ALSPAC study between 1991 and 1992. Whole placentas are stored in formalin. Some wax blocks and slides also exist. Some cord tissue sections are available and are stored at -80oC There may be samples available from cord blood, please contact ALSPAC for more details.

ALSPAC-G2 (G2 Child) Placenta, cord tissue and cord blood

Year Started: 2012

Birth samples were collected from babies of the ALSPAC participants, from 2012. Placenta tissue is stored at 4 degrees in 70% ethanol. Some cord tissue sections are available and are stored at -20oC, Cord blood (plasma and white cells) were also collected.
